Solar Eclipse Viewer Glasses

These viewers are designed to be worn like sun glasses except that you can look directly at the sun with them. The image of the sun is sharp and seen as a natural yellowish-orange. These are excellent for viewing a solar eclipse as it is happening. They are completely safe and block all the harmful rays from your eyes. The viewers are made of a sturdy frame with optical thin film for the aperture. They adjust to two sizes to fit various head types. They are a great teaching tool.

Solar Filter Sheet

This is a precut 9” X 12” sheet of black thin film that is safe for direct solar viewing. It allows only .001% of sunlight to pass through it therefore has a neutral density of 5. The image is yellowish-orange. It can be used under magnification and is therefore safe to use with any telescope, refractor, binoculars, view finders, or spotting scopes. Use it for direct viewing or to make your own eclipse viewers and solar filters. It can be used to view the sun with the naked eye, cameras, or video cameras. Only one layer is needed and can be cut with scissors or a sharp razor. The material is .002" thick and is very sturdy and easy to work with. Before looking through the film at the sun be sure there are no pinholes, scratches, or tears.
